The Ivy Killer Team removing climbing ivy from trees on the north side of the park.

Schafer State Park Needs Your Help

Help needed clearing winter storm damage.  The large shelter was heavily damaged by trees that fell during the March 2016  wind storm. State Park crews have removed the logs but the area needs a lot of work to start restoring the area. We need volunteers who can help rake up debris and shovel dirt. All abilities needed.   We would like to start restoring the park to the beautiful place we all remember. Together we can do it!  We need people who can help salvage the long shakes from the roof remains. Call if you can help.

Our invasive weed removal folks led by Cindy Burton have started work at the park removing ivy and other non native plants. This work can be done by folks of all physical capabilities. Working in the group is fun and satisfying.  Workers get together at times convenient to volunteers. Call (360) 789-9953 for information.    INFO@FOSLS.org
